We are bringing online in a series of webinars light duty diesel diagnostics. Training is required not only to have knowledge of subsystems found in a diesel-powered engine but also have a diagnostic approach. This requires critical thinking where the technician needs to assimilate an issue and develop strategic tests to understand the issue with the vehicle but also to ensure the issue is repaired.
In this two-part webinar, Tony Salas is not only an instructor but a working technician who also troubleshoots various vehicles with diesel engines. He will challenge the attendee on strategies to take in diagnosing and knowing the subsystems found on Ford Powerstroke, GM Duramax and Dodge/RAM applications. Code analysis will be covered and how they differ on these applications. Use of the service information will be covered along with an overview of data link connection and networks. Using critical thinking will enable the attendee to develop skills to diagnose issues when service information is not adequate. There will be a review of electrical, engine, fuel, intake and aftertreatment systems. Salas will also role play case studies from his experience.
